2. Purpose
These terms govern the sale of collectible trading card game (TCG) products and of officially licensed merchandise — plush, figures, bags, stationery and homeware — through the online store at madeofcards.com by MADE OF CARDS. Prices are quoted in euros (EUR), taxes included where applicable, billing from Portugal.
3. Orders and acceptance
1. An order is a proposal by the customer, not a binding contract. 2. The contract is concluded when MADE OF CARDS confirms dispatch or provides the order confirmation accepted in writing. 3. MADE OF CARDS may refuse an order where information is incomplete, payment fails, or stock is unavailable. In case of unavailable stock after payment, the customer is refunded in full without undue delay.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices shown at checkout are final and include VAT at the applicable Portuguese rate.
- Payment is processed through the store's payment providers. MADE OF CARDS does not store payment card data.
5. Condition and product photography
Single cards and graded pieces. Graded before sale on the public Cardmarket scale, the same scale the European reference prices come from:

When a unit sits between two grades, the lower grade is published. Every listing of this kind photographs the exact unit for sale. The photographed condition is part of the product description; the condition shown is the one delivered.
Sealed product, accessories and licensed merchandise. Sold new, in the manufacturer's original packaging, and listed as New or Sealed. These listings use the manufacturer's product images: every unit of the same reference is identical, so the images describe the reference and not one individual unit. Each product page states this in its condition note.
Products with randomised contents — blind boxes, blind bags and sealed booster packs — are identified as such on the product page. The specific character, card or variant inside cannot be chosen, requested or previewed before purchase, and is not part of the product description.
6. Shipping
- Single cards and graded pieces ship under the six-layer protocol: sleeve, toploader, rigid board, padded mailer, thank-you card and seal — identical for every order regardless of value.
- Merchandise, sealed product and accessories ship in a boxed or padded parcel sized to the item. Every order is tracked.
- Shipping costs, delivery zones, dispatch times and carriers are shown at checkout before the order is confirmed. No shipping charge is applied that was not displayed there.
- Risk passes to the customer on delivery.
7. Right of withdrawal (14 days)
Under Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014, the customer may withdraw from a contract within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods, without justification, by communicating the decision before the period ends.
Exceptions
The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for:
- Sealed products unsealed after delivery (sealed booster packs/boxes) where hygiene or the protection of collectible value requires the seal;
- Goods which, by their nature, become mixed inseparably with other items;
- Cards graded or customised to the customer's specifications, where the grading or customisation was requested by the customer.
How to withdraw
Use the model withdrawal form set out in Anexo A to Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014, or write to Madeofcards@madeofcards.pt stating your intent in any unambiguous terms. The form is not mandatory. The deadline is met if the communication is sent before the 14-day period ends.
Refunds
Refunds are made with the same payment method used in the original transaction, within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notice (and, if goods were received, of receiving the returned goods or proof of their return). The customer bears the direct cost of returning the goods.
8. Defects and warranty
- Goods must conform to the description, including the photographed condition.
- If goods arrive damaged, the customer should report it with photographs as soon as reasonably possible after delivery, and in any case within the legal guarantee period. MADE OF CARDS will repair, replace or refund at no cost, in line with the legal guarantee under Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021. Reporting later does not remove the customer's statutory rights.
- The legal guarantee for movable goods is 3 years from delivery under Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021, which transposed Directive (EU) 2019/771 and repealed Decreto-Lei n.º 67/2003 with effect from 1 January 2022. A lack of conformity that becomes apparent within the presumption period set by that law is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery, and it is for the seller to prove otherwise.
9. Livro de Reclamações
MADE OF CARDS operates an online store from Portugal. Under Decree-Law n.º 74/2017, customers may file complaints through the electronic complaints book:

10. Alternative dispute resolution
In the event of a dispute, the customer may contact the competent entity for alternative dispute resolution (RAL). For a seller established in the district of Coimbra this is:

The centre covers the municipality of Coimbra, where the registered office is located, and hears consumer disputes up to €30,000 (no limit where essential public services are concerned).
11. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Portuguese courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the customer's country of residence.
